Ladies and Gentlemen, Zane Walker Brown

As of Thursday, October 6th, 5 something p.m. , I became an uncle for the first time. My brother and sister-in-law had themselves a baby named Zane Walker to expand the Brown tradition....of...expanding the Browns. Zane, being a boy follows a pattern in the family of boys. My sister broke that pattern in 1983 when she was born...She was the only girl on my dad's side of the family. I got a brother, four boy cousins, 3 or four boy 2nd cousins, my dad had two brothers, no sisters, and maybe all his cousins were guys...maybe a girl in there somewhere but you get the picture. Anyway, my mom's side of the family is all girls so that manly trend may not make it too far. I don't know all the details of genetics anymore so i shall move on.

Anyway, my mom, dad, and i went to go visit them this weekend. we decided to fly because it's cool. We left O'Brien airport on flight Cessna N5244L when it was still dark outside...nice chilly calm dark morning.

we kept of flying....it got lighter outside

the sun finally came up enough to see all the terrain

we eventually past over the Red River

and even flew over some small mountain like areas..i don't what you call them

finally after 3 hours, we were ready to land in Bentonville, Arkansas (the home of walmart and many other companies)

Andy, my brother, picked us up from the airport and took us to their place...only about 10-15 minutes away. We were very excited to meet our new family member. We stayed with them all day...we talked, examined the baby, took lots of pictures, ate, and slept and held the baby more, and ate more....it was a fun time. Zane really is a cute little baby with the funniest cry... The bottom part of his mouth will shake really fast when he cries....sort of like a daffy duck laugh...but not the duck sound...anyway, zane pretty much slept the whole time were were there...occasionally he opened his eyes long enough for a picture...but usually he was upset if he opened his eyes because he would cry...it was tricky finding a time when his eyes were open and he wasn't crying at the same time....i did get some good pictures of him. I do wish Kara could have been there on this trip. I almost feel bad that I got to see the baby before her. She is a girl, and this is an emotional time for her. I think she wants one of her own or something..she cried when she heard about zane being born....i guess it was a happy cry. anyway, here are some picture of zane.

Adam- I busted out laughing when I scrolled down to the picture of Zach and me. Funny stuff! Yes, I am quite jealous that you got to hold and love on him before me, but I have his pic on my computer that I kiss occasionally. I am counting down the days before I can go see him, but it's not as bad as I thought. Great pictures- I love the one with you and Zane- some girl will think that is super cute. Zane could be the key to end your girlfriend drought! It's always good to be thinking in those terms. : ) Maybe I'll see you this weekend. You're more than welcome to stay with us. Love you.

Andy hasn't laughed that hard in a while as he did when he saw your superb Photoshop job of Zane with his Auntie Kara and Uncle Zach. He went right in and told Zane that his Uncle Adam is a very funny guy. Zane was sleeping, but I am sure subconsciously he gets it. We want the digital version of all the pictures you took that made Zane cry. We are so happy you got to come and meet your nephew so soon. You're welcome back anytime--espcially if it's to introduce us to a girl...

Hey adam- maybe you could photoshop a girl for you into those pictures to show Andy and Melissa.

Funny picture. Zane should become "The most photoshopped kid in America". He'll have his own show on Fox. He'll become bigger than the Olsen twins. We'll have to read about his addiction to losing weight and pain killers in the tabloids.

Maybe not the best of lives. Stop photoshopping him. Let him enjoy his life as a kid, not a kid celebrity.

Adam,
Congrats on the sweet baby nephew. Nephews (and nieces) are quite wonderful because you can spoil them but you don't have to raise them. Plus, they look up to you.
Thanks for the encouragement on the paint spill. Are you coming to see the show? Oh yeah--didn't tell you about it. Renee's coming, though. I'll make sure she takes pictures, then we'll photoshop you in.

Every year my son Dylan and I have been building our Halloween animatronic display. This year we added 12 new figures and my wife had been making the clothes etc. but then I clued in that Halloween Costumes were the ideal solution - ya, ok I'm slow but...This year is really cool because we've done an HP Lovecraft display that I'm sure he'd appreciate but I'm not so sure he'd approve of this - The Necronomicon - Is it just me or is that just plain goofy ? Anyway, everybody is doing their own Haunted House thing now but hey - it's fun and if you've got kids I really suggest you try it yourself if you haven't already. It's a nice change from the usual Christmas Lights routine and a lot of scaaarrry fun. Happy Halloween everybody.

I was searching for blogs that had Dallas, TX in them and came across yours. I live in Dallas and have a self defense school. I like the posts on your blog, so I've bookmarked it to stop back by periodically. Take care.
